Who we are / About us

We are NZ’s leading supplier of shelters, covered walkways and larger public transport structures; providing design, fabrication and installation services to councils and other customers throughout NZ and Australia.

We are part of the ARA Group, a multi-divisional installation, service and product provider with business’s located throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Our basic business philosophy is to exceed our customers’ expectations in all aspects of our work.

ARA Shelters & Structures products are suited for a wide range of applications in transport (bus, ferry and train), sports (hockey and soccer dugouts), education facilities, bicycle parking and commercial development applications. With an experienced team of design engineers, fabricators and installers, we are able to provide our customers with innovative, high quality, cost effective and aesthetically attractive turn key solutions.

Our leadership in the market has been continually demonstrated through our development of the modular approach to shelter design, efficiency in engineering design and the introduction of anti-graffiti, graphics, LED lighting and solar solutions to the product market. A high level of safety and protection for patrons, and the minimisation of long term maintenance costs through both engineering design and material selection are also key features of our products.

Through our Bike Parking NZ and NZ Bollards, ARA Shelters & Structures has also established itself as the leading supplier of commercial bike parking equipment and security bollards to the NZ commercial market.

ARA Shelters & Structures operates a comprehensive quality control system throughout all our operations. ARA Shelters & Structures is also an ISN Network approved contractor for Auckland Transport.

ACG Strathallan “When ACG Strathallan began looking at options for the new hockey turf coaches dug out we viewed several traditional designs, not of which really blended into the overall vision we had for this project, after looking at several types of canopy we came up with the idea of a bus shelter type construction, something that provided shelter, was robust and hard wearing and at the same time looked aesthetically pleasing. We also had some design challenges as we wanted the dugout to work as a hockey dugout and hockey spectators as well as provide shelter in the form of a dug out to soccer players using the soccer field adjacent to the artificial turf. We approached ARA Shelters & Structures (Formerly Operating As CAM Shelters) for an initial concept and after a very short period of time they came back with a suitable design. Once the design was confirmed ARA Shelters & Structures (Formerly Operating As CAM Shelters) arranged building consent liaised with the main turf contractor , then successfully supplied and installed the multipurpose Hockey and Soccer dugout at ACG Strathallan College.
